Times Of Change

After the Incident at the Burrow Remus had decided to have some time to think things over without the stress of having some many questions chucked around.

He was seated in the Three Broomsticks by the open fire, glancing to the window, watching the rain hitting against the narrow glass sheet. He could see flashes of light in the distance from the storm which was quickly approaching.

He sighed and took a large gulp of his wine. He wished James was there too, yet he was gone, forever. He was so pleased Lily was back, but there was some many things that needed to be worked out, so many questions.

Lily couldnt stand it..she knew she was the cause of the the trouble back at the Burrow, and it killed her to think that people were arguing because of her, she sort of wished she had never gone to them...she wished she had taken her chances on the streets, her chances with that devilish man that would abuse her, simply because she was a woman, she swallowed hard as she stood there at the door of the burrow, a small tear trickled down her cheek as she heard the raised voices trying not to be heard but it was no good, Lily could hear every word they were uttering, she inhaled deeply and opened the door, letting it close behind her as she stepped out into the cold night, bringing the hood of her cloak up over her head as she walked down the small steps and then across the garden path out into the fields, she was in no condition to leave the house mbut she needed to get away, even if it were for mearly a few hours, for she couldnt leave her son..not again.

It had been over a hour since Remus had arrived and he had gotten through another wine glass. The thunder was nearly over the small villiage, the lightening was brighter and the thunder arrived soon after the flashes that filled the sky.

He had several eyes watching him, He could hear whispers, but at this moment in time he had other things on his mind.. he had gotten used to it...

Lily was totally unaware that Remus was in the three broomsticks as she ran from the fields into town, darting across the road and into the building, panting harshly trying to regain her breath as she dripped with rain water, completely saturated from head to toe due to the down pour of the storm, she swallowed hard noticing she had focused a little attention on herself, as she then bowed her head and walked slowly tooward the bar in order to purchase a warm drink

"A hot chocolate if you please"

she asked the bar tendent as she stood there, her sweet familar voice ever so soft and slightly timid.

He looked up after hearing the distant yet family voice. He thought he was going mad, it was all a dream or.. he had gone Loopy finally..

He saw the back of Lily's head and slowly pushed himself up from the chair. He left his glass of wine on the table, knowing he would be going back to it.

"Lily.. what are you doing here.. shouldn't you be with you Son... it might be hard for him, but you can't run away from him...and you are soaking wet.." he said looking at the rain dripping from her hair

Not only was Lily soaking wet but she was frezzing cold too, as she slowly turned her head to look a thim, it was clear she had been crying as she stood there shivering madly under her drentched clothing, on hearing his words she looked form his face to the floor, what was she meant to say to that?

"Im not leaving him"

she spoke almost in a whisper now as her eyes remaind upon the floor

"I simply couldnt stand the shouting"

she told him as the bar tendent brought her mug of hot chocolate and she dippe dher hand into her pocket handing over a few silver coins, her hand shaking as she did so

"thank you"

she hwispered to the bar tendent as he watched her curiously.

"I am here for the same reason... we all need time to rest and think.. before yelling at each other, it is getting us nowhere.." He turned and made his way back to the table by the fireplace where his wine was settled on the table top.

He kept looking at her, still trying to get his mind to register,, she was there in the flesh. He took his wine and gulped the rest down in one

Lily watched him walk back to his table as she lifted her hot chocolate and tried to warm her dainty hands, she looked around herself and then to Remus once more as she began to walk toward the table he was sat at, she stood there and looke dot him for a few moments before she spoke

"I...umm..d..do you mind if i sit with you?"

she asked him curiously, she didnt want to intrude or make him feel uncomfortable in anyway
