The Three Broomsticks

Alice walked into the Three Broomsticks letting the door swing shut behind her. She had just got into Hogsmeade and had decided to relax a little bit before starting her shopping. She went up to the bar and just ordered a butterbeer and then went to sit at a small table near the window. She sit and stared out the window smiling. Even though the outside world could be so dark and dreary she could somehow always manage to find the good things about life. She took a few sips of her drink and sighed.

Lasse had decided that it was finally time to get out of the castle and start exploring the surrounding area. Before he left for Hogwarts, his father had mentioned Hogsmead, and had especially mentioned the Three Broomsticks. He saw the sign for it and decided that he would go in. He might as well see if there were any students in there that he could get to know. He had yet to meet anyone that he truly felt connected to, and he was hoping that he would soon.

Lasse opened the door and strolled into the tavern. He glanced around and saw some middle aged people that he assumed were villagers. He saw a girl sitting at the bar, and also a guy at a table. Neither of them looked particularly interested in talking, so Lasse just slunked down to a table of his own.

Lasse's attention was drawn to the male as he walked up to the bar. For some reason, the student looked really familiar, but Lasse just couldn't place his face. He had a feeling that he was supposed to know who the person was, but he just didn't. He saw a lady go up to the boy and take his order, and Lasse decided that it was time to go make an introduction and get something to drink. He got out of his seat and walked up to the bar, where the lady was handing the boy a drink.

"Excuse me, Ma'am, I was wondering if I could try a butterbeer.. I've never had one from here before, and I've heard that they are just delectable!" Lasse handed the woman a few coins and then turned to look at the boy standing next to him.

"Oh, I'm sorry.. I don't believe that we have met," Lasse said as he was handed a butterbeer. "I'm Lasse Mablethorpe." Lasse said as he extended his hand.

Alice finished her butterbeer. There wasn't much going on in the room. She looked around for any familiar faces,she thought one might be.....but it couldn't. It was mostly just a few students in there. She decided she still had her shopping to do and she would come back later for another butterbeer if she had time. She stood up and the chair scratched on the wooden floor. She swiftly walked through the door letting it close behind her.

Sophie had almost literally stumbled her way out of the girl's bathroom, having nearly bumped into Katie as she entered in but instead shifted her weight just so as to dodge a collision very narrowly. Unfortunately this knocked her completely off balance at the awkward angle in which she had shifted in order to get away from the crashing of the two. Her hand shot out in a flash but missed the door frame by no less than an inch or two, leaving her free falling. During the blink of an eye her feet scrambled as if they could get her back upright be pushing in the direction of the fall. Much to her chagrin this was not the case. For one thing the wall on the other side was much too close, for another she collided shoulder first into Draco's arm, pinching it for a moment between the wall and her shoulder making him lose grip of the box in his hand. (I hope you don't mind that.)

Instantly after realizing what she had done crouched down, apologizing quickly. "Oh, I am terrably sorry for having done zat." Her accent quite noticeable as she was still trying to re-think her English. A sudden upheaval left her with little warning to practice. Taking the box and wrapping the cloth around it quickly she stood and offered it apologetically back at him. "Please, Forgive me. I slipped and lost balance too easily." Looking at where he was and then looking behind her she gathered he wasn't about to head towards the boy's bathroom. "If you are looking for someone ze only other person who is in there is Katie." As if suggesting he was looking for a girlfriend in the bathroom.

Feeling himself being bashed this caused Draco to drop the box which caused him to look rather annoyed. No one could touch this, this wasn't just for anyone. Shooting his eyes in the direction of the person who had bumped into him.
"Watch where your going!" He hissed impatiently as he stood up properly and wiping down his robes with a small frown pointing in the Girls direction. He didn't have time for this, he was going to have to be as quick as possible, he knew it would only be a matter of time before Katie left again.

Glancing to the Girl, his eyes went wide as she picked up the box, what was she doing. Snatching the box back he made sure that the necklace was wrapped properly, and that no one was able to touch it. Looking towards the Girl again he shook his head a little from side to side while thinking for a few moments.
"I'm looking for no one." He replied coldly as he placed the package back into his pocket.

She didn't mind the firs response. it was half expected given that she did crash against his arm like a blundering beast. So, in truth it didn't effect her as much as it might others who knew Draco Malfoy a bit better. With the case snapped from her fingers however she was quite shocked. Now that was no way for anyone to behave. It was his to have but there was no reason to be violent about it. Her lip curled up but her brows furrowed.

"And just what do you think an attitude like zat will get you? You do not need to be so rude. If I had hurt your arm then for zat I apologize, even the uuuhh ze case in your possession I gave back. 'Ze least you could do is at least restrain ze anger momentarily." She wasn't going to stay much longer, merely making her point as she straightened out her own robes and dusted them off. "Well, whoever you are waiting for; I hope she gets treated better zan zis." Persisting with the idea that he was waiting for someone. Afterall, why else would he be in front of the girl's bathroom looking so anxious? And holding what was obviously a jewelery case. At least obviously to her with its strong wooden case and smooth exterior. Not many things got that kind of outward care for a box.

Keeping her composure though she took a deep breath and nodded to him, giving him one last show of respect as she did to everyone. "Good day." And with that she would head back towards her table, where her pumkin juice was sitting in wait.

Sitting down she did her best to drop the issue that happened before, seeing as there was little reason to dwell on it. When Cho came over to the table she looked up, pleased to see a sympathetic person. She simply gave a pleasant smile before giving a brief explanation of the events. "Oh, it t'was nothing. I merely bumped into someone and he was a bit rude to me. Nothing of importance." She wasn't about to make a mountain out of a mole hill.

"But now zat I have my pumkin juice I feel better." With that she took a nice long sip of the drink. People here raved about the butter beer, but she felt like something a bit more cool, even on this winter day. "I think zat he might have been a bit anxious to give a person he is not looking for a gift. A rather big gift if I am not mistaken." Even though it wasn't her place to make excuses for him, she merely went on her own educated guess as to why he was that way. She would be nervous to hand someone that kind of gift too.

Watching the Girl he sneered at her for a few moments while he crossed his arms over his chest.
"Who are you to tell me how to act and how I should use my attitude!" He scouffed while looking disgusted. Who was this Girl anyway? Was she even a Pure-Blood? He doubted it. And with that he walked and slipped through the door, luckily this door didn't go straight into the Girls Bathroom, it also led to the Boys aswell.

About Fifthteen minutes later Draco walked out with the usual Smirk on his lips as he placed his wand back into his pocket slowly looking around the Pub. Going over towards the bar he Ordered himself a Butter Beer before spotting Pansy Parkinson over in the Corner of the pub, sitting with Blaise Zabini. Passing money across the bar, he slowly made his way towards the table that the two other Slytherins were sitting at, his pocket now empty which ment that he no longer had the necklace with him.

"Oh, I am afraid I do not know who he was. I only got a brief look at 'im and I prefer not to remember those zat want to make people upset. It takes power from them quite quickly if you do not harbor bad emotions easily." She was quite proud of herself for remaining calm under much stress, keeping herself relaxed and enjoying life rather than fretting over such small incidences.

"You are ze uuuh.. Prefect for Ravenclaw, no? It is good to see zat people in other houses still care about their fellow students. Ze Syltherin seem to be ze only ones who do not understand unity is important for not only a house but ze school itself. I like ze American's Benjamin Franklin's saying of; united we stand, divided we fall!" Saying it with a bit of drama in her voice, attempting to add a touch of humor to the topic. Even going as far as to raise her hand as if holding up some powerful object.

Hermione slowly walked into the Three Broomsticks. She noticed Sophie sitting by Draco. "Oh no," she said to herself. She walked over to make sure nothing bad happened. "Hey Sophie, mind if i join you," she asked. She shot Draco a dirty look. She didn't want to sit with him but she wanted to be with Sophie in case something happened.

As Sophie came to the table she smiled brilliantly. "'Ello 'Ermione. Please sit. It is so good to have friends here. My mother was afraid of me being unable to make friends." Chuckling at the thought and shaking her head. "Would you like some pumpkin juice?" Offering her mug to Hermione. She would have offered it over to Cho Chang, but she had promptly ordered her butterbeer too quickly making it a somewhat moot offer.

In truth she held a great deal of respect for Hermione and in some aspects idolized her. She did a number of things she would never dream of doing, at least from what she heard in tales of Harry and Friends' exploits that reached her school. Anything involving battles of "You Know Who" were spread like wildfire. "I was actually hoping to run into you. You see, Professor McGonogal had given us an essay on Transfiguration and how it effects ze object. I was wondering if you could give me help on how to start ze essay. She is a very hard teacher to read her likings."

Turning his cold gaze towards the door Draco smirked a little as he saw Hermione, he would never shout anything, not here, the place was a bit too crowded. Glancing towards the other Slytehrins for a few moments Draco was trying to drink the Butter Beer before it was too late, before people would tell that Katie was not herself. Tapping his hand inmaptiently on the desk he was trying not to make it sem too obvious that he was in the rush so he would wait a couple of minutes before taking another sip.

Finally he hd finsihed his Butter Beer, muttering something to the others whe would see them later he pushed his chair back the legs scrapping against the floor and walked towards the door his Cold Grey eyes looking around the Happy pub slowly before he pushed the door open.

Contrary to what she had told the Ravenclaw's prefect she knew who it was that she bumped into and who he was after, but still she said nothing in regards to it. When she saw him stand she sipped the last of her pumpkin juice and set the glass down. "I think that I would take a walk. 'Ermione I hope it is alright to discuss ze matter a bit later when it is convenient for you." Speaking politely and then looking over towards Cho. "Thank you for your concern, it is much appreciated." Offering a smile of thanks she would leave the table as she went to the door, picking up her coat and scarf from where she hung them near the door.

Outside she had an aim, and it wasn't to get fresh air either. Instead she would follow the footprints in the snow, at least the freshest ones there until she caught up with the very boy she had crashed into, Draco. Seeing the back of his platnium hair she distinquished him easily. "Its not to late you know!" Standing still and no longer approaching him, wondering if he would be the one to stay this time.

Hermione saw Sophie leave and she soon ran after her. She didn't want her getting in trouble. She went outside and followed her. She stopped outside beside her. "What in the world are you doing," she asked. "Why don't you just follow him instead," she whispered. She walked over to the window and stayed there until Draco kept walking then she would follow him. Where was Harry when you needed him?

Looking over towards Hermione she gave a frail smile and took the girl's hand in her own two, clutching it as if praying for her to listen. "'Ermione, I need you to trust me and allow me to talk in private. Zis is a matter I wish to discuss between myself in him. Please forget you where here." In the hopes that Hermione trusted her enough to follow her instructions she gave a soft and friendly smile to the girl before releasing her hand. "I am a big girl." With that she would leave Hermione to stand on her own and approach Draco with her hands at her side despite his hand being on his wand.

"I only wish to talk. Do not worry, no one will hear of this, you have my word." Given the insults thrown her way along with the rudeness she felt her word was more than enough. Keeping her tone low and the back of her head towards the Three Broomsticks so that her lips couldn't be read. "You are not exactly ze most difficult person to read Monsieur Malfoy. Jumpy, handing odd presents to a girl zat you claim you are not looking for, leaving ze three broomsticks without your friends at your side..." She would let him make out her meaning on his own as she stared out in the snowy distance.

Is she an idiot she thought. She glanced over her shoulder to see his expression. And it wasn't pretty he also had his wand out. And she hoped he hadn't seen her yet. If he did she would quickly draw her wand out and defend herself. This is going to get interesting.
